This is the mold-countermeasures edition, for when mold has grown on your boots. We introduce a daily-care method for gently removing it with the correct steps and protecting your precious boots.
Step.1 Pre-care
Spray Leather Cure Mold Mist Platinum onto a cloth and use the sprayed cloth to gently wipe the dirt off the shoes, as if stroking them. Since the cloth wipes up the mold, always use a clean part of the cloth.
When handling moldy shoes, work in a well-ventilated place, for example with the windows open.
- Do not brush mold. It can spread to other items, and inhaling mold is bad for your health.
- Wear a mask if needed.
- Seal the cloth used to remove the mold in a plastic bag or similar before throwing it away.
Step.2 Spray the mist
Once the mold on the surface of the boots has been removed, spray Leather Cure Mold Mist Platinum over the entire boot.
Step.3 Cleaning
If dark, blackish patches remain on the surface, they are the roots of black mold. Remove them with a cleaner (the sand-eraser side of the Two-Way Gum Cleaner).
[Caution!] The roots of mold cannot be removed completely. Nor can staining from blue mold, red mold, and the like be removed.
Step.4 Apply cream
For two-tone boots, moisturize with a cream for delicate leather (Boot Black Delicate Cream). If you want an overall shine, use a colorless emulsified cream.
Step.5 Brushing and finishing
Brush the whole boot with a pig-bristle brush to work the cream in.
Finally, polish with a cloth and wipe carefully with a dry cloth. A brush and cloth alone are enough to give a beautiful finish.
