VINTAGE REVIVAL PRODUCTIONS

Marugame, KagawaSince 2008

Created with purpose ―Design that envisions how it will be "used"―

Vintage Revival Co., Ltd., which runs its own factory in Marugame, Kagawa, is a brand that creates leather goods such as wallets and bags. It was founded in 2008 by two brothers who joined forces: the elder in charge of design and production direction, and the younger in charge of manufacturing. The company name comes from its early days, when the brothers were "reviving" vintage jeans and patch materials, which they loved as much as leather, as small accessories. The company approaches its craft by valuing each perspective: beauty, design engineering, materials, and production.

Unique Functional Beauty and Refined Form, Designed Around How It's Used

Commitment 1

Our president and designer, a former ship designer, draws the plans himself in CAD and gives them shape through repeated prototyping. Beyond visual beauty, he examines every detail, from shape and strength to usability, one by one, revisiting each from a perspective unbound by conventional standards. Imagining how each piece will be used, he balances unique functionality with simple forms, creating designs whose ease of use you can feel every time you pick them up.

Adjustments to the 0.1mm Create a Finish You Can Feel at Your Fingertips

Commitment 2

Based at our own factory in Marugame, Kagawa, we handle everything from product planning to production. We revisit the dimensions and thickness of each part down to the 0.1mm, and refine every detail, such as keeping stitches flatter in areas your fingertips often touch. Each of these adjustments is reflected in a finish you can feel at your fingertips. Please note that some products are manufactured in collaboration between our own factory and partner factories in Japan.

Enjoy the Character of Natural Leather, Different in Every Hide

Commitment 3

Vegetable-tanned leather finished with dyes reveals the leather's natural vein marks, wrinkles, and scars. Vein marks are traces of blood vessels that surface on the leather, forming patterns like lightning bolts or leaf veins. Wrinkles are linear marks that appear when creases and slack in the hide are smoothed flat, and they are often seen in the shoulder area, which combines flexibility and strength. As long as they pose no problem for strength or quality, we incorporate these features into our products as part of the leather's individuality.
