SLOW&CO
Chuo-ku, OsakaSince 1963
Unswayed by changing times, we create at our own pace.
Headquartered in Chuo-ku, Osaka, Inoya Co., Ltd. has been involved in Japanese bag making since its founding in 1963. Building on that skill and experience, the company launched SLOW&CO in 2008. The name "SLOW" expresses its approach to making things: to pursue its craft at an unhurried pace, without being swept along by fast-changing times. Drawing on the proven skills of Japanese artisans, SLOW&CO creates pieces that gain character with use and can be cherished slowly, over many years.

Savor the expression of fine leather that deepens with use
Commitment 1
For our materials, we use original leather developed together with one of Japan's leading tanneries, which continues to uphold traditional methods. Tanned slowly using only plant-derived tannins, without relying on chemicals, the leather is finished with care over time, giving it both softness and suppleness. Its thickness and texture are refined down to the smallest detail, balancing a lustrous expression with lightness and durability. In the finishing process, artisans carefully work oil into the leather by hand and knead it again and again. This painstaking process creates leather that feels smooth the moment you first pick it up, and that rewards long use with a deepening sheen and evolving color. Growing into an expression all your own the longer you keep it—this is the essential appeal of leather that we hold dear.

Artisan handwork, from pattern making to finishing
Commitment 2
Making a leather product begins with carefully assessing each cowhide, one by one. Our artisans read the grain and texture unique to every hide, select the best part for each product, and then cut precisely along the pattern. The cut pieces are carefully stitched together one at a time on dedicated sewing machines, and the edges are burnished to finish. In our workshop, experienced artisans devote themselves to this work every day, building up meticulous handwork that allows not the slightest error. We believe that the way a piece settles comfortably in the hand, and the durability that lets it be used for many years, are only possible through such skill and care.

In pursuit of forms we truly want to carry ourselves
Commitment 3
Precisely because times change so quickly, we prefer not to chase trends, but to deepen our own creative work at an unhurried pace. This conviction is the starting point of everything we make. Our reference points are the traditional styles that live on in Britain, France and America. We reinterpret the classic character that each country has cultivated from our own perspective, and turn it into something new. Believing that meaningful tradition is born of high-quality innovation, we aim for designs that are casual yet carry a quiet dignity. Holding firm to the principle of offering only what we ourselves truly want to own, we create pieces that accompany everyday life and can be enjoyed for years to come.
