Colorful leather goods that reflect the beauty of Kyoto
Kyoden Co., Ltd. has been crafting products since 2005, based at its workshop in Nakagyo, Kyoto. The company originally produced clothing such as jeans adorned with traditional Japanese patterns, but a growing desire to deliver pieces finished by the makers' own hands directly to customers led it to launch the small leather goods brand COTOCUL in 2015. The name combines "coto," from the Japanese word for an ancient capital, with the English word "culture," expressing a wish to convey the spirit of Kyoto and of Japan. Today, the company continues to plan and make wallets and small leather goods at its Kyoto workshop.

The Rich Character of Leather and Color, in the Palm of Your Hand
Commitment 1
Starting with mini wallets that fit in the palm of your hand, we offer wallets that showcase vivid colors in compact forms. In addition to classic colors such as black and navy, some wallets come in 8 colors including mustard and champagne green. Their small size makes the colors all the more striking. Another appeal is being able to add your favorite color to an easy-to-carry size.

Compact, Yet Surprisingly Roomy
Commitment 2
Our mini wallets feature an original construction that lets you store bills without folding them, despite their small size. In addition to dividers that keep bills and cards separate, some wallets have a dedicated My Number Card pocket in an inconspicuous spot, protecting your important cards from being lost or left behind. We are particular about designing them to hold far more than their compact appearance would suggest.

The Beauty of Bokashi Dyeing, Woven by Artisans' Handwork
Commitment 3
Some of our wallets use bokashi, a gradation dyeing technique also used for kimono. Artisans carefully hand-dye each piece one at a time, finishing it with an elegant gradation. The individual variations in color that come from handwork are part of the charm of a one-of-a-kind piece. With shades such as golden yellow and sky blue to choose from to suit the season or your outfit, you can experience Kyoto's traditional dyeing culture through familiar small leather goods.
