Nakamura-ku, Nagoya, AichiSince 1957

Through randoseru (school backpacks) that accompany children through their six years, toward bags that accompany people's lives and bring smiles

Headquartered in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Murase Kabanko Co., Ltd. has been honing its bag-making skills since its founding in 1957. While carrying on craftsmanship techniques passed down since the Meiji era, the company has continually refined its randoseru (school backpacks) to lighten the burden on children and make them easier to use and more durable, earning numerous awards. So that children—the ones who matter most—can choose with excitement and enjoy their daily walk to school, Murase Kabanko continues to make randoseru that accompany them through their growing years.

The right materials and construction in the right places, to support six years of use

Commitment 1

Our flagship cowhide models feature a waterproof urethane finish on the surface, enhancing resistance to scratches and rain. We also use cowhide for the front pocket, where synthetic leather is commonly used, out of a commitment to durability. Some models use cordovan for the flap, which is firm and resists losing its shape. In addition, the body has a protective edge that guards the sides and bottom from abrasion and impact, with reinforcing core material inside. With six years of use in mind, we pursue durability in both materials and construction.

Carrying comfort you feel most on the days the load is heaviest

Commitment 2

The back fittings, which raise the base of the shoulder straps, let the randoseru sit snugly along the line of the back. Because the center of gravity sits close to the body and slightly higher, the weight is less noticeable even on days packed with textbooks. Raised areas on the left and right of the back pad reduce side-to-side swaying, and shoulder straps that curve along the body ease the burden. We pursue a carrying comfort that stays easy to use as children grow.

A simple randoseru, with one touch of what your child loves

Commitment 3

Based on simple designs that never grow tiring, we also value the joy children feel in choosing for themselves, with a rich range of colors and customization options. On some models, the back pad and the underside of the shoulder straps are given a splash of color, or the metal fittings come in different colors, adding personality down to the details. The rivets on the flap can be chosen from a selection of designs, and leather tags that can be engraved with a name in Roman letters are also available. We keep devising ways to make a randoseru the child chose for themselves something they treasure, so that every school day is something to look forward to.
