A romeo (a shoe term used mainly in America) is a side-gore type of low shoe with elastic panels on both sides, which fit it to the foot without laces. It originated in the West a little over a hundred years ago as an indoor shoe and gradually came to be worn outdoors as well.
Like other KOTOKA shoes, this "Naramachi Romeo" is made from a single layer of leather with no lining, so it molds to the foot exceptionally well. The leather is "Tatsuno Waxed Leather", a distinctive leather that KOTOKA uses for several of its shoe styles.
It is a rare leather that keeps the natural surface of the hide intact while being infused with wax right to the core. It is strongly water-resistant, and its character deepens with wear.
