Products that travel beyond space and time

HIKER is a new product brand project created through collaboration between a collective of leather artisans in Soka, Saitama, and a creative team. Looking closely at the relationship between objects and people, it aims to create products that take root deeply in daily life and can be used across generations. It delivers tools that walk alongside people, transcending "space"—indoors and outdoors—and "time"—from the past into the future. Combining leather with metal, wood, and other materials, it gives form to products that can be used widely, from everyday life to the outdoors.

Inside and out, by your side at any time

Commitment 1

We offer products that can be used anywhere—not only indoors, but in the car, at the campsite, and in other outdoor settings. From living spaces with shelves and desks to time spent outside, enjoy the texture of leather and the time spent surrounded by it, wherever you place them. Even as the seasons and the places you spend time change, we keep devising ways for them to remain useful in a changing environment. Inside and out, from past to future, the leather changes too, shifting in color and luster as its owner grows.

Lighter to carry, with clever disassembly and storage

Commitment 2

Some of our tools designed for portability feature a structure that can be assembled for use and disassembled for travel. We recommend rotating the metal part to stow it in the leather handle, or picking the parts you need and clipping them to a carabiner to carry along. These tools combining leather and metal incorporate a structure that works not only indoors but in outdoor settings as well.

Enjoy the unique character of each piece of vegetable-tanned leather

Commitment 3

Our products are made with vegetable-tanned cowhide. Each piece of natural leather differs slightly in texture and color, and those differences are part of what makes each product unique. Rather than being made of leather alone, each product combines leather with a different material—iron, stainless steel, aluminum, wood, and more. Some make the most of the contrast between leather and metal, while others pair leather with wood, each with its own distinct character. The non-uniform texture of the leather can be enjoyed as the individuality of each piece.
