Dyed after construction: a bag like no other in the world
Headquartered in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Lily Co., Ltd. has devoted itself to bag making alongside Japanese artisans since its founding in 2005, building up uncompromising craftsmanship from material selection to finishing. Among its lines, the FORO series stands out for its use of horse leather and for product dyeing, in which color is applied after the bag has been sewn into shape. This gives each piece its own unique character, and the texture deepens further with use. In addition to bags, the series also offers wallets and other small goods.

A richly vintage feel that makes it the star of your outfit
Commitment 1
Beyond the pleasantly worn-in look created by product-dyeing the horse leather, the designs and sizing that anyone can carry naturally, regardless of gender, are part of the appeal. The bags are carefully designed so that their silhouette holds its impression whether carried over the shoulder or in hand, and some items can also be worn crossbody. Easy to pair with casual outfits or slightly more formal attire, they let you change your impression to suit the day's mood. It is precisely because their presence never grows tiresome that they become bags you can keep for years.

A distinctive texture, achieved by dyeing after construction
Commitment 2
We use product dyeing: the leather is cut and sewn stitch by stitch into a finished bag, and only then is the whole bag dyed. The usual practice is to dye the leather first and then construct the bag, but deliberately reversing the order changes how the dye takes at the seams and elsewhere, leaving traces of careful handwork. The leather also shrinks slightly and the hardware takes on a moderately distressed look, giving even a brand-new bag the feel of one that has been used for years. Because the dye uptake and shrinkage vary from piece to piece, you can enjoy meeting a bag that is truly one of a kind.

The more you use it, the richer its character, until it is unlike any other in the world
Commitment 3
The horse leather we use is characterized by tough yet supple fibers. Shades of color, wrinkles, marks, and texture vary with the production period and the part of the hide, so each piece has its own individuality from the moment it arrives. The more it is used, the more the oils settle in and the luster grows, and the wrinkles and marks of daily use accumulate as the owner's own history. You can savor, over a long time, the very process of change that comes with the care you give it, and grow as attached to it as to a well-worn tool.
