Soka, Saitama, and its surrounding area have been a leather-producing region for nearly 100 years. The "LEATHER TOWN SOKA PROJECT" works with local artisans to develop new tanning and processing methods and new leather products. FITNESS LEATHER offers training items that bring leather to tools such as dumbbells and jump ropes. With a presence that blends naturally into daily life, it proposes an environment where it is easy to start training even in spare moments.

Commitment 1
Training equipment tends to look rugged and utilitarian, and often feels out of place when kept in a room. Dumbbells and jump ropes made with leather soften that rugged feel and are finished to blend in as part of the interior, creating an environment where training becomes a natural extension of everyday life.

With leather training tools, the quality of the finish and durability vary greatly depending on how they are made. The metal core is carefully wrapped in vegetable-tanned leather. The dumbbells, for example, pair a leather-wrapped core with a dedicated stand to prevent rolling and scratches on the floor. Wrapping the tools in leather not only softens their appearance but also contributes to this kind of everyday ease of use. The material is a natural fiber made of protein, and the products are made with a process designed with their eventual return to the soil in mind.

Each item is made with cowhide crafted by the artisans of Soka. The mat uses half a hide from a single cow in its natural shape, while the jump rope is made entirely of leather from the handles to the rope itself—each piece tailored to its purpose. The way the color and texture change with use is a pleasure unique to leather raised in this region. Through daily training, each tool grows into one that is yours alone.
