Based in Higashikagawa, Kagawa Prefecture, Ruboa Co., Ltd. has been making leather goods since its founding in 1961, honing reliable sewing techniques on the leather-glove production floor. CORGA was born from a desire, shared with the design company h concept, which the company met through the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's JAPAN Brand Development Assistance Program, to draw out the elements an object naturally holds and give shape to simple, unadorned design. Through forms that one naturally arrives at the more one thinks about use, it proposes tools that return to the essence of everyday life.
Design at its simplest, made beautiful through planes
Commitment 1
Treating leather as a single unadorned plane and combining several such planes, we create forms with nothing superfluous. Without adding curves or excess stitching, the design builds its expression solely from the beauty of the boundaries where plane meets plane. A simple presence whose play of light and shadow shifts with the angle, it can be used for a long time without ever growing tiresome. Each time you pick it up, you can feel the texture of the leather itself and the careful tailoring. It fits quietly into the everyday life of its owner.
High functionality that lets you choose how to use it

Picturing the situations in which they will be used, we draw out the elements each object inherently holds and build each form one by one, creating simple shapes that follow how they are used. The lineup incorporates ideas suited to each purpose, such as pieces whose cord length can be adjusted by the position of the knot, pieces whose bottom gusset expands for more capacity, and pieces whose handles fold down to serve as a band. You can freely choose how to use them depending on the day's outfit and how much you are carrying.
Unique craftsmanship unbound by convention

Some products can only be made thanks to the advanced sewing skills our artisans have cultivated through leather-glove making. Our bags, made of 0.5mm-thick oiled cowhide, are sewn by precisely joining plane to plane, achieving solid strength that resists losing its shape while remaining light. These are exceptional pieces full of ambivalent charm: leather bags that can be enjoyed with the lightness of a paper bag.
